Chief Technical Officer
Location: Bury St Edmunds

Salary: £80k - £100k per year

Our Client is seeking an entrepreneurial, commercially oriented Chief Technical Officer and software evangelist, willing and able to establish and lead the development strategy of the core software products and services, and drive the subsequent development of new products and services. This newly created position is a key board level appointment. Working closely with the Sales and Marketing Director you will be identifying the direction of new product and services development as well as setting the developmental roadmap, with ownership for the strategy of the products services, and setting realistic delivery milestones in line with customer and market requirements.

With a 40 year history the Client is an established developer of innovative bespoke software and services for the public sector, with a growing presence in telecommunications, outsourced ICT, network, voice and data systems provision in the private sector. Profitable, secure and with an enviable list of customers and partners with whom they have stable, long-term relationships, they are seeking to accelerate their growth by the formation of this dedicated R&D group which will be responsible for broadening the range of products, services and sectors in which they operate.

To be successful in this role you should be able to demonstrate the following:

• An entrepreneurial spirit, with a track record of bringing enterprise solutions to market.
• Previous experience in the capacity of a Research and Development Director.
• An ability to identify and critically evaluate new and emerging technologies and services.
• Be a highly self-motivated individual, self starter with the ability to articulate and influence at all levels, both managerial and technical.
• Prepared to champion the roadmap of the product with pragmatism and an aptitude for anticipating and satisfying customer requirements.
• The ability to build and maintain a software research and development team.

This role would suit an entrepreneurial director, preferably with experience of a similar role within the ICT industry.
