Finance and Commercial Director
Location: West London

Salary: Competitive Salary + Bonus + Benefits

Our client is an ambitious, innovative and growing company providing document creation solutions for a prestigious client list. They are now looking for a commercially aware professional to fulfil the new role of Finance & Commercial Director to help shape and deliver the next stage of development for the company.  This is a Board position reporting to the Chief Executive.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

FINANCIAL:

• Managing a small finance team
• Overseeing the AP,AR and NL functions
• VAT, Payroll, P11D, employee benefits, pension matters
• Monthly Management Accounts and supporting M.I.
• Leading annual budget preparation process, preparation of budgets updates and p&l and cashflow forecasts
• Preparation of year end accounts
• Department spend monitoring and control
• Managing working capital
• Preparation of ad-hoc financial reports and analysis
• Managing relationships with auditors, insurers, bankers, etc
• Reviewing and implementing necessary financial business processes
• Provide commercial & financial support to the CEO in connection with strategic business transactions

COMMERCIAL:

• Drafting, negotiating  and managing commercial aspects of customers contracts and arrangements
• Commercial advice to the sales team
• Managing external relationships with with key customers
• Definition and implementation of key commercial processes throughout the business

SPECIFIC SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

• Experience of working as a FC/FD in an SME
• M&A experience an advantage
• Proven people management skills and strong team player
• Good attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong communications and presentation skills
• Ability to work both in a hands on capacity and to see “the bigger picture” and drive strategic planning cycles
• Experience of preparing and negotiating commercial contracts
• Exposure to contractual aspects of the implementation and delivery of complex solutions based projects
• Experience in professional services an advantage

The role will suit a candidate looking to make a move to a full board FD position with substantial commercial content in the role.
