My client is a NASDAQ listed worldwide leader in EDA hardware and software provision for board and chip level design. Founded in the early eighties, with several thousand employees distributed worldwide, my client is now seeking to strengthen its Emulation Solutions team.
Job Description
Reporting to the Solutions Manager of the Emulation Division, the Software Project Manager’s principal role will be to manage all aspects of software product development. The role is based in Cambridge, however intermittent International and European travel is expected. The products operate in the area of Audio/Video (A/V) and other industry standard bus protocols and are used as part of an advanced SoC verification environment. The software applications, which form part of these products, run on PC systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Definition and ownership of product/software specifications
- Detailed and rigorous project management
- Delivery of products to schedule
- Bespoke customer project management as well as longer term product development
- Project management of PC based, Windows XP applications software development
Qualifications
This is a highly technical role and to be successful it is likely that you can demonstrate the following:
- Strong leadership in the development process and the ability to become a recognised expert user of the Solutions
- 8-10 years experience of software product development in the consumer electronics field
- A track record of developing software (VC++, Drivers)
- Good general technical knowledge of the consumer electronics industry. In particular A/V protocol standards, industry standard bus protocols, such as Ethernet and SoC peripheral devices
- A Computer Science/Electronics/Physics or Maths degree
