Financial Director - Charity Sector

Location: Bury St Edmunds

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Our client is currently seeking an exceptional individual who combines technical skills and oversight of the Finances of the Charity with the ability to function at Board and senior management level, contributing effectively to financial and organisational strategy.

Job Purpose: 

• To take responsibility for the management of the Finance and Facilities Departments and to work with the Chief Executive to achieve the Charity’s Strategic and Operational aims.

• To advise both the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees appropriately, specifically in relation to their area of expertise, so that they are able to effectively achieve the mission and agreed strategic planning.

• To provide sound financial advice to Trustees, Chief Executive and other senior management colleagues. Provide an effective financial management service to the charity and its subsidiary companies. Act as the leading interface between trustees and management on financial matters.

• To prepare, develop and analyse financial management information and provide a high quality support service to line managers within the charity.

• To support the Chief Executive in negotiation with funding agencies.

• To lead on the strategic direction, implementation and management of information technology (IT) in the organisation.

Reporting to the Chief Executive you will be highly experienced and hold a recognised accountancy qualification.  Previous financial experience within the Charity Sector would be an advantage.
