Corporate Venturing: What are the opportunities for your business
Drinks & panel discussion with Frederic Rombaut (CISCO), Roy Williamson (Castrol InnoVentures at BP), Bruce Beckloff (UKTI/ARM) & Chris Winter (New Venture Partners)
Wednesday 6 March 2013 from 18.15 - 20.45
at St John's Innovation Centre, Cambridge
Corporate venturing is on the rise. In 2011, 500 corporate venturing units globally invested more than $26bn. The UK saw the launch of 4 new corporate venturing units, as well as increased overseas investment or exit, as in the case of Liquavista – acquired by Samsung for $50m after the South Korean giant established a corporate venturing office in the UK.
What are the opportunities for your business? Should you make ties with a larger organisation? How can you leverage their size and contacts? And how can you connect with the right one? Our panel of experts will offer invaluable insight into making the most of the investment, expertise & mentoring opportunities that flow from partnering with a corporate.
Bailey Fisher was pleased to welcome 80 CEOs, CXOs, NEDs & investors to the event. Discussion covered access to finance from corporate venture providers, corporate venturing M&A, preparing your business for a corporate venturing transaction, venture in-house incubators and how corporate venturing can be complementary to the entrepreneurial ecosystem by working in partnership with super-angel groups, VCs and Universities.
