Bailey Fisher launches networking event for first-time CEOs
Building on the success of their popular Women 4 Technology and Finance 4 Technology networking events, Bailey Fisher launched the first in a series of networking evenings for first-time CEOs, welcoming guests from technology companies in and around the Cambridge Cluster.
Representatives from early-stage technology companies including True Knowledge, Im-Sense and Cambridge Temperature Concepts enjoyed a relaxed dinner and engaged in a lively debate around the challenges facing first-time CEOs. The event was informal, but discussion was run under Charterhouse rules, giving delegates the chance to be frank and open with their thoughts.
Paul Bailey, managing director of Bailey Fisher says: “Having spoken to a number of first-time CEOs in the local market, we saw an opportunity to establish a forum for those running their first venture to benefit from exchanging ideas with their peers. I’m delighted to have seen such a keen interest to take part and we are already being asked when the next event is planned. We were very pleased to welcome Paul Taylor, CEO and Co-founder of Phonetic Arts, as Chairman for the inaugural event. Paul is now embarking on his second technology venture having successfully sold his first technology company in 2004. He facilitated a lively discussion and was able to share some valuable experiences and ideas on questions raised around the table.”
Feedback from delegates has been incredibly positive.
“The event was a rare opportunity for a free and frank discussion amongst first-time CEOs within the Cambridge Cluster. As could be expected, technology trends and the current economic climate were discussed in equal measure, with insight, analysis, and suggestions provided by all. Certainly an evening of benefit to all who attended.”
Shamus Husheer, Co-founder and CEO Cambridge Temperature Concepts
