Cambridge Network welcomes Paul Bailey to Board of Directors
Paul Bailey, the founder of executive search firm Bailey Fisher, has been elected to represent the 'ordinary' membership on the Board of Cambridge Network, beating 10 other candidates in a closely-fought online election.
Also announced today are the winning candidates for three further Board seats, elected by the Network's 21 Founder Member organisations. They are: Professor Alan Sibbald, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Development and Scholarship) at Anglia Ruskin University; Ken Wood, Deputy Managing Director of Microsoft Research Ltd; and Neil Davidson, co-founder of Red Gate Software, who were chosen from five Founder Member candidates in another close contest.
'We were delighted with the level of interest, particularly in the "ordinary members" election, as evidenced by the large number both of nominees and of votes. There will be another round of elections in 12 months' time when one more Founder Member and one "ordinary" member seat comes up for re-election,' said Peter Hewkin, Cambridge Network's CEO.
The new directors, who will attend their first Board meeting in the new year, will join existing Board members David Cleevely (Chairman), Ian Leslie (University of Cambridge), Hermann Hauser (Amadeus), Hugh Parnell (NW Brown Group), David Halstead (Deloitte), Peter Taylor (TTP Group), Bill Parsons (ARM) and Adam Twiss (Velocix).
Paul Bailey, who was nominated by Walter Herriot, recently retired director of St John's Innovation Centre, said: 'I am absolutely delighted to have been elected to the board of Cambridge Network; this is a great honor and everything that the Network stands for resonates with my own sentiments about working in such a great entrepreneurial and dynamic location that is Cambridge. I look forward to giving back the support to Cambridge Network that it has given me and Bailey Fisher over the last 10 years and working alongside some new and old colleagues.'
