Bailey Fisher rebrands Financial Controllers Lunch Club for 2009
A successful year for Bailey Fisher’s Financial Controllers Lunch Club saw the popular networking event expand and develop throughout 2008, attracting regulars and new faces from many of Cambridge’s technology companies.
The quarterly lunch club was set up by Ann Fisher and Rachel Keaveney of Bailey Fisher, to provide Financial Controllers with the opportunity to meet with their peers in a relaxed and friendly environment. Having both previously been employed as Financial Controllers within technology companies - Ann for an early-stage software house and Rachel for a VC-backed medical company - they saw the need for an informal forum for Cambridge's Financial Controllers to meet to share issues of relevance to their roles.
Since its inception, the lunch club has developed to attract those also working at VP to Director level, keen to benefit from the event's excellent networking potential, as well as the opportunity to gain insight from experienced professionals in an informal setting. We have therefore decided to rebrand the event as "Finance 4 Technology" Lunch Club.
Guest speakers during the year included Neil Parker, Market Strategist at RBS, Stefan Sarles, Employment Lawyer at Charles Russell, and entrepreneur David Cleevely. Topics ranged from the longer-term implications of the credit crunch, to doing business with the US, whilst David Cleevely shared his insights into developing a successful finance function within a growing technology business. The year culminated with a wine-tasting event, hosted at Bailey Fisher’s offices in Impington.

”Finance 4 Technology” is organised by Bailey Fisher ~ Executive Search, with sponsorship from Grant Thornton, Charles Russell and RBS NatWest. The first event of 2009 will take place on 20 March at RBS NatWest’s offices in Histon, with a talk on Mitigating Currency Exposure from Lisa Baldassarra, Corporate Risk Solutions, Royal Bank of Scotland Group.
