Women 4 Technology: inaugural networking lunch
Bailey Fisher welcomed 20 of Cambridge’s female decision makers to the inaugural Women 4 Technology networking lunch at Restaurant Alimentum this week.
The guest speaker was Sarah Davis, a US attorney who created an entrepreneurial niche for herself selling Louis Vuitton handbags on eBay to pay off her law school loan. Ten years down the line, Fashionphile is the largest pre-owned luxury handbag business in the US, with an online store and a boutique in Beverly Hills. Sarah shared her insights into developing a successful online business and making the most of social networking initiatives, as well as her red carpet tales from the Oscars.
Women 4 Technology has been set up by executive search firm Bailey Fisher to offer women in technology at CXO and senior management level an opportunity to meet with their peers to share ideas and discuss issues of relevance to their role in a very relaxed setting. Ann Fisher, co-founder of Bailey Fisher says: “We wanted to offer our guests the opportunity to take an hour or so away from running their business to make new contacts and share experiences. We have been overwhelmed by the positive response to the event, both from those who attended this week’s event and from those unable to make it this time. We are already looking forward to welcoming guests to the next two events - 1 July with guest speaker Catherine Beech and 30 September with Sarah McVittie.”
