Women 4 Technology welcomes
Anne Miller of The Creativity Partnership
Bailey Fisher Executive Search welcomed 45 female CEOs, CXOs and entrepreneurs to the first of this year’s Women 4 Technology networking lunches on 24 February.
Our guest speaker Anne Miller, Director of The Creativity Partnership (www.tcp-uk.co.uk), gave an inspirational, humorous and eye-opening talk on how to deal with resistance in the face of new ideas. Resistance is normal. Don't get demoralised, get smart.
Anne introduced the 4 stages of resistance: Blindness, Frozen, Interested, Embedded, before suggesting ways of overcoming them. Key recommendations were to combine the expected with the exceptional to open the eyes, to provide shock, connection and safety simultaneously to unfreeze, to share your understanding of the normal as well as the abnormal, and to provide support and reinforcement, feedback and sanctions.
As a follow-up to the event, Anne Miller will be running a workshop exclusively for members of Women 4 Technology. This will be a highly-participative event for a small group of around 12 senior women, exploring in depth how to deal with resistance to new ideas. Members interested in attending should please contact Anne Miller on anne.miller@tcp-uk.co.uk
