Toby Young is Co-Owner of Bailey Fisher Executive Search, with over 25 years’ experience advising on Board and C-suite appointments across the technology sector, with a particular focus on Deep Tech.
He works with investor-backed and high-growth businesses at critical stages of development — supporting them to scale, strengthen leadership teams and prepare for exit. Over more than a decade at Bailey Fisher, Toby has partnered with many of Cambridge and the UK’s most ambitious technology companies, helping to build boards and leadership teams that have driven significant growth and value creation.
Toby combines deep market insight with first-hand operational experience, having spent time in a commercial leadership role within an AI start-up during its international expansion. He takes a highly advisory approach, working closely with founders, boards and investors on leadership strategy, succession planning and long-term team build.
Recent mandates include CEO and CTO appointments within quantum and semiconductor businesses, multiple hires for a US-based quantum company, and a CFO for a private equity-backed AI software business.
Alongside his search work, Toby hosts Bailey Fisher Technology Dinners, bringing together C-suite leaders from growth technology companies, as well as bespoke Chair dinners focused on peer-to-peer insight and discussion.
