Bailey Fisher’s Jake Ryan went along to the Connected Innovation Conference on 10 March for the launch of SpaceEast, the UK’s newest space tech cluster.

With the global space market predicted to grow from £270bn to £490bn by 2030, the launch of a regional hub to accelerate the innovation and commercialisation of cutting-edge space technologies across Norfolk and Suffolk is an exciting development for the region.

The Space Tech session to mark the launch of SpaceEast was chaired by Stuart Catchpole, joined by a panel of experts: Rachel Forster - Exotopic; Rob Adlard - Gravitilab; Paul Febvre - Satellite Applications Catapult; Andrew Peters – AST Group; and Mauro Mortali – BT, discussing catalysing economic growth in space technologies, encouraging cross sector collaboration and tackling the skills gap.

There’s such huge potential in this sector – it’ll be exciting to see the impact of the new cluster on space innovation across the region.

SpaceEast is supported by the UK Space Agency and New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership.
